WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE AMONG FLAT PANEL TVS?
Because many folks are confused about these
new technologies (everyone does know they
all look great!), the above link provides
some brief definitions of each technology so
you’ll have a clearer awareness as you make
your buying decision. All these technologies
create magnificent pictures. And of
course, JRB installations will make your
entertainment center look as good as the
picture on your new television!

CAN I MOUNT MY LCD OR PLASMA TV OVER
A FIREPLACE?
Fireplaces can reach
temperatures over 90 degrees F. The
mantle over your fireplace supports and
deflects heat from the rising flame.
The owner should check above the mantle [the
chimney breast] where the screen will be
mounted with a thermometer. We
do not recommend installation over marble
fireplaces due to the heat that can cause
the cabinet of the TV to warp, and shorten
component life. Also, wood fireplaces
can leave soot film on the TV cabinet.
This damage is NOT covered under the
manufacturer's warranty.
Although gas/propane fireplaces are somewhat
safer, we do not recommend installation
above these types of fixtures either,
unless JRB Installations performs an
on-site survey first.

CAN MY PLASMA OR LCD BE MOUNTED ON A
PLASTER WALL USING AN ARTICULATING
[SWING-OUT] BRACKET?
Most plaster walls
feature wood lattice or wire mesh behind
them. We do not recommend installation
of an articulating bracket on a plaster
wall, due to the heavy weight of the bracket
itself, which may cause the plaster wall to
crack after a short period of time. We
only recommend this type of bracket on a
WOOD-framed or cement-block wall.

CAN MY PLASMA OR LCD BE MOUNTED ON A
BRICK WALL?
Yes --
as long as our company performs an ON SITE
SURVEY prior to installation, and all
procedures and prices are agreed upon ahead
of time.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANY
ARTICULATING ARM, CANTILEVER ARM, WISHBONE
ARM, OR SINGLE STUD TV MOUNTING BRACKET BE
MOUNTED TO ANY METAL FRAME STUDDING (18
GAUGE) WITHOUT
THE WALL BEING FIRST MODIFIED BY A CERTIFIED
CONTRACTOR TO SUPPORT THE WEIGHT OF THE TV
AND BRACKET. CONCRETE WALLS MUST HAVE
A 2000 PSI DENSITY TO SUPPORT A WALL
MOUNTING BRACKET.

I SEE THESE STORES OFFERING LOWER
PRICES THEN YOURS. ARE THEIR SERVICES
REALLY A BETTER BUY?
No.
Our company has the highest trained staff to
ensure that the installation is done
properly the first time. The big-name
stores often use inexperienced installers
who do not have the equipment or tools to do
a proper job. Our staff does in fact
have the proper training, keeps up with the
latest technology, and does an outstanding
job for our customers. You get what you pay
for!

1080i or 720p? WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Is 720p vs.
1080i worth being concerned about? Yes and
no. If you're a consumer looking for a new
TV, you can happily ignore the 720p vs.
1080i debate because every TV which is
described as HDTV or HDTV Ready is required
to support both formats.
